This can interfere with dining, other attractions, shows, interacting with family and friends, or soaking up the theming in your environment. This one depends on how many park days you plan on doing during that time. Usually, when we plan a long trip, we end up dedicating 2 days to each park, or at least 2 partial days. While Genie+ can be a great time-saver, it can also be a big drain on your budget, especially if you have a big family. A family of five will cost you anywhere from $75-$150 per day to use Genie+, and that adds up quickly. That money could be better spent on meals, merchandise, or your hotel room.
This can be valuable if your vacation is less than a week long and time is of the essence. That does change things a bit, and we would be leerier about recommending the service when it’s over $20-$25. We have yet to personally buy it at the $29 max, and we would only consider doing that on the busiest days of the year , and even then it could be a stretch. We recommend buying it for Disney’s Magic Kingdom since there are plenty of attractions and you won’t easily run out of experiences to book. You will be able to do more Genie+ attractions here than at the other parks which gives you good value. One of the things we hate the most about the Genie Plus service is that it really keeps you hooked to your phone for a good part of the day. You need to use your mobile device to buy Genie+ and to book your attractions.
Cord-cutters in the United States might want to check out the details below on the ESPN Plus and Hulu bundles. Read more about Disneyplus.com begin here. The latter is especially important for watching series like The Handmaid’s Tale, the new High Fidelity series and Rick and Morty — the kind of not-exactly family-friendly content that Disney Plus is primarily comprised of. The service streams most of the Marvel movies in order, as we’re still waiting on the Spider-Man movies and that one Hulk movie. Not only that, some of the Marvel movies that are already in the library got “bigger” thanks to a new feature called IMAX Enhanced.
If you are thinking about going to Walt Disney World in the coming future, here are some other popular articles where you will find all the info and tips you need to plan your trip. This will give you a good idea of which attractions you need to prioritize early in the morning, and which ones you can put off until later in the day. Again, 30 minutes might not sound like much, but it could be the difference between waiting 90 minutes to ride Rise of the Resistance, or walking right on. Walt Disney World Resort guests have an advantage over other guests not staying on property and they can actually enter the theme parks 30 minutes before the others. No matter if you are using Disney Genie+ or not, we always recommend waking up early and getting to the parks before the majority of the crowds. This can be done by using a rope-dropping strategy and taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry.
We’ve experienced that a lot recently and have been able to use Genie+ to save some serious time. Let’s say you planned on going to one park in the morning and another in the afternoon.
Original Series
Like all modern streaming services, Disney Plus allows you to stream directly from Disneyplus.com on Windows, MacOS, Chromebooks, and even Linux computers. You can’t download videos for offline playback when streaming through the browser (unless you’re using a Chromebook) but you have some handy keyboard controls. The Disney+ Basic subscription includes adverts briefly shown throughout the movie or TV show that you are watching. These ads will be specific to the age rating of the movie so the kids won’t see adverts for something they shouldn’t. The Disney+ Premium service costs more per month but if you want to share your experience and don’t like interruptions then that’s the one for you. While franchises like Marvel and Star Wars are synonymous with Disney, some viewers may be surprised to learn that you can also watch National Geographic content on the streaming service. This includes a variety of original documentaries and informative reality television.
Disney Plus in 4K: is it available and how to watch
Recently, Disney made a change and it is possible for the Genie+ service to sell out on a given day. Genie+ is subject to availability, which means the number of guests who can purchase the service each day is limited. If you still want to Genie+ for every day of your vacation, you will have to wake up early each morning and purchase it on the day you plan on using it.
If you have a stand-alone subscription to Hulu right now, you’re paying $8 per month to watch with ads or $15 to stream ad-free. Disney Plus Basic with ads is $8 a month if you have the service without the Disney Bundle. When comparing Max to Disney Plus, however, things may get a little more complicated. The ad-free Max plan costs $15.99/month, three dollars more than the Disney Bundle, but it also comes with thousands of titles that are likely to entice even the most passionate Disney fans. Instead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’ll get titles like The Batman and Justice League, not to mention Studio Ghibli films and popular series like Friends, Gossip Girl, and Game of Thrones. Now that HBO Max has merged with Discovery Plus, you’ll find even more content from networks like TLC, HGTV, the Food Network, and CNN. That being said, for kid-friendly content, Disney Plus remains a clear winner.
An ever-growing range of titles in stunning 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos sound on compatible devices. Disney+ has thousands of exclusive movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. All of these and more now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu with the Disney Bundle. Disney Plus also lets you download all of its shows and movies to its apps. But while Disney Plus is great for kids and families, adult-oriented content is lacking. For instance, for Valentine’s Day, Disney Plus had a sad collection of romantic movies for grown-ups. Since Disney owns Lucasfilm, Disney Plus is home to Star Wars films, including the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy and the sequel films. Those include classics like Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. There are also newer hits like Frozen and Frozen 2, as well as Pixar favorites like Finding Dory and Toy Story 4.
